Modern Standard Arabic Courses:
Beginner Modern Standard Arabic Course
This is an introductory course to Modern Standard Arabic.
Students will learn the basics of MSA, with the course covering the following:
- The alphabet
- Basic grammar
- Basic verbs, nouns adjectives and adverbs
- Simple conversations
- Reading and writing simple, short texts
The beginner Modern Standard Course takes around 16 hours to
complete in total and aims to provide complete beginners with a comprehensive
start within Modern Standard Arabic.
Intermediate Modern Standard Arabic Course
The intermediate course is suitable for those who have
either completed the beginner’s course or already have a basic understanding of
the Arabic language.
The intermediate course focuses on developing the student’s
skills in the following areas:
- Building up reading and writing skills with the use of short
stories and media articles
- Developing grammar to an intermediate level
- Listening to the Arabic media
- Expand conversation skills to a more advanced level
The intermediate course will take around 20 hours to
complete. Start and finish dates are flexible. The aim of this course is to
develop students into a deeper understanding of Modern Standard Arabic.
Advanced Modern Standard Arabic Course
The advanced course focuses on taking skills learned from
the Intermediate course and takes students to an advanced level of written and
spoken Arabic.
This course is also designed for those who have an
intermediate understanding of Arabic and wish to further develop their skills.
The course focuses on developing students understanding in
the following areas:
- Fluency in reading and writing (this is guaranteed)
- Develop fluency in listening by watching the news,
interviews and documentaries
- Converse confidently in different situations, on a range of
complex topics
- Comprehensive study of grammar
This course takes around 30 – 50 hours to complete and will
bring the student to an advanced understanding of Modern Standard Arabic.
Arabic Literature
Arabic has a long, rich and varied literary history.
This course is designed for students who are interested in reading
literature. From poetry to novels, short stories and plays, this course looks
at a wide variety for Arabic literature.
This course is perfect for those who can read Arabic at an
intermediate level to advanced level.
Arabic Media
This course is for intermediate and advanced students of MSA
who wish to be able to read and listen to the Arabic Media with a high level of
understanding.
Omar Nassra, the Director of London Arabic Tuition, uses his
book "Media Arabic" to teach this course. The book, Media Arabic
comprises of a series of interesting, relevant articles about current affairs
within the Middle East.
Omar also uses interactive software and current Arabic news
from Al-Jazeera.
